The brief: to create a bright, welcoming classic Shaker kitchen with traditional detailing. Jess Cook, our designer from Boston Kitchens, has successfully transformed the client’s tricky north-facing room into a space filled with light and warmth.
She chose a versatile Symphony Rockfort Shaker kitchen for its traditional lines and panelled doors, here with Vintage Nickel Pewter handles. The simple off white finish is complemented by beautiful solid wood worktops.
Choosing Symphony’s Shaker White finish is one way to bring light into your kitchen, but in this case having a clever lighting plan was essential to counter the north-facing aspect and small windows.
Jess has maximised cabinet lighting, using under-cabinet light strips, glass-fronted cabinets with internal lighting and highlighting above to brighten this room.
As our customer realised, one of the technical benefits of talking to our experienced kitchen designers is that you’ll get a bespoke lighting plan to guarantee your kitchen is a bright and lovely workspace.
Rounded cabinets, curving natural wood worktops and a soft bevel-edged subway tile splashback continue the traditional look, harmonising with the slate look floor. A Blanco slimline sink and single mixer tap fit neatly into their corner position.
We know the kitchen is the heart of any home. That’s why it’s important to choose well to ensure functionality and a superb design which will last for years.
