Builders’ Merchants Awards 2020 Showrooms Winner

We’re delighted to have received ‘Kitchen and Bathroom Showroom of the Year’ at the 2020 Builders’ Merchant Awards for our Lincoln Showroom, which opened in January last year.

The Awards ceremony, held virtually in May 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, is an industry event celebrating the brightest and the best in the Builders’ Merchants sector.

Our Lincoln branch is the latest Turnbull showroom to open and its success reflects the talent and commitment of our entire Showrooms team who give the best service possible to all customers across our Turnbull network.

Major investment in showrooms

Our kitchen and bathroom design and supply service has grown over the past nine years to become the fastest growing branch of Turnbull’s business.

We’ve invested in our showrooms, ensuring they are spaces which inspire our customers and showcase the best appliances and technology available today. We’re justifiably proud of getting industry recognition for our new flagship showroom just outside Lincoln city centre.

From unwanted bus depot to award-winning showroom

The 7,200 ft² state-of-the-art showroom was created on the site of a former Stagecoach depot near Lincoln’s busy ring road. Planning  started in April 2019, with a team made up of our hands-on Directors, the Group Showroom Manager and our in-house designers.

It took nine months from concept to the doors opening in January 2020 and a total of £1 million was invested in the project. The team spent over 100 hours deciding product ranges and display designs to provide choice and value for our customers at all price points.

Design-led displays and Inspiration Zones

The showroom is laid out over two floors with 16 full kitchen displays on the ground floor and over 40 bathroom displays on the second floor. We have specialist 3D design software Fusion to take customers on virtual journeys  through the space.

There are two dedicated ‘Inspiration Zones’ where customers can view endless combinations of worktops, tiles, flooring, lighting options and handles to see how their choices work together before installation.

We also offer our customers the opportunity to compare bathroom fittings in a large fully plumbed Hansgrohe display with over 20 shower valves, heads and basin mixers.

Overcoming Coronavirus challenges 

The showroom opened in January 2020 during one of the most challenging times the country has seen.

Our designers kept in touch with our customers during this period by offering virtual showroom tours and video appointments.

We are now busier than ever, seeing record numbers of orders, and working hard to deliver projects with a focus on exceptional and personalised customer service.
